Which is 'scarier'? an adult's naivety is more likely to put me 'on guard' and wary......'cuteness' is often a masque for darker countenances .....or just a symptom of idiocy........ You have to see 'what is' to know 'what is'......One can't keep an 'eye on' what cannot be acknowledged........Our corpus amygdaloideum lies beneath the convolvulus of rationalization, but...older and more primitive....it still runs the projectors......darken the theater, roll the acetate......what you see is what you get........

....now, to pump up the contrast and color......then, toss it to the recycle bin......It is the Process more than the Product that is transformative to the Artist.....Often, the 'Frame' is the velvet rope suspended from bronze columns, by chains.....like all the memories that we 'freeze frame' into memory circuitry within the brain's convolutions.....Memory is an Editing of a trillion images into those that our Conscious and Unconscious 'Minds' retain to substantiate what we remember......the rest is 'cropped' and discarded like the aftermath of electrical storms.....

An acquaintance that was having many problems with her daughter finally accompanied her 28-year old co-dependent "child" to a psychiatrist, who diagnosed the 'problem' as "intermittent compulsive aggressive explosive disorder"!...... [There's a name/term for everything , isn't there?] I recalled a more recently (re-)solved murder case in which a man beat his best (only) friend to a bloody pulp..with a baseball bat, after his friend admitted to being gay; then, discovering that his friend was still capable of standing........ran his friend down with a vehicle, killing him........The "killer" was sentenced to prison, for 1st degree murder, but was released after only 4 years...having been retro-diagnosed with "intermittent explosive disorder".......So, he's back with the general public........Go figure!......I just recalled another "case" in which a young hippie (early 70's) was apprehended for selling a cou...

This morning, while researching the dark inspirations for H.R. Giger's paintings.....and recalling his grisly creature, designed for the 1979 Ridley Scott Film, "ALIEN".....I encounted this painting, by Ivan Le Lorraine Albright, who painted the equally grisly 'portrait of Dorian Gray'...for the 1945 film of the same name.    The Darkness that we can see, is but a manifestation....it is not Real, but....rather...it may be that last, in an infinite series of Lasts, expression of realizable matter in this, of many.....innumerably many....materializations from what we, in this Universe, consider Nothing.... Here, and Now, Art is required.....the Art of Realizations.

              Flexibility will, eventually, dominate Obduracy... like an Elastic Heart will outlast a hardened one.

If a Computer had organized human neural pathways......in tidy, color-coded geometric algorithms......eliminating differentials and substantiating congruencies.......Isn't that what Evolution has done/is doing already? Even from low Earth orbit, all of us look.....well, 'the same'......It's in the 'details' where lasting change occurs.....just the movement of an outer shell electron, coerced from it's robotic orbit to collide within an inner shell, changes the Universe....
