WHAT DO YOU SEE IN THE GRAVY? Over the years, I've had Gypsy fortune tellers offering to 'read my tea leaves', palms, skull bumps, fingernail ridges, palms and the bottoms of my feet.....the smoke from censers, my aura...even the veins on the back of my hands or the clouds and stars in the sky.......Perhaps, I should just 'have them over' for chipped beef and gravy, on toast, and just be amused by their Religiosity......IS THERE A MESSAGE IN THE GRAVY?.......OR JUST COINCIDENCE, POSING IN CREAMED CHIPPED BEEF, squeezed from a plastic bag? THE NUN'S STORY and THE CHILDREN'S HOUR .....The first film confirmed my disgust of Religion and Religious, delusional brainwashing.......The second, the ritualized provocation of repression, denial, shaming and guilt.......These films substantiated my Atheism, early in Life......especially, the scene in THE NUN'S STORY, in which the acolyte nuns-to-be parade into the Cathedral to 'take their vows'.......Even now, I am adverse to ritualized weddings, funerals, and graduation ceremonies that are but reconfirmations of unthinking obedient conformity.....
