PATRICIA SURVIVED HER MOTHER'S 'FETAL DEATH BY TURPENTINE' ABORTION OF THE 'TO BE' FUTURE MENNINGER ACOLYTE, ADOPTING HER FREUD-OBSESSED LESBIAN TAKE ON SOREN KIERKEGAARD, TRAPPED IN PLATO'S ALLEGORICAL CAVE WITH ONLY A BOXED SET OF 'THE COMPLETE PHILOSOPHY OF HEGEL' AT HER BEDSIDE IN POSITANO




6:30 a.m. .....time to "awaken the dead"....so much for my plan to get a 'good night's sleep'.......caffeine and pastry fix.......with some arduous 'hands adjustments' on some antique vest pocket watches.....distracted, easily enough, by a 1951 adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's STRANGERS ON A TRAIN and THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY......and, some Gabriel Yared and Nat King Cole, wafting from the kitchen radio, toppling thought dominos of not quite random poetic juxtapositions........I felt particularly fragmented after re-reading some Highsmith ....... Fragmentation seems to be a Theme of her novels; consequentially, I made a rather unflattering self-portrait of myself as one of her pathetic characters..




seque into abstraction.....reflecting on Patricia Highsmith's studies of personality fragmentation......before returning from the Twilight Zone to the rising sun on a cold morning......10 am....time to 'get it together' for more mundane preoccupations......but first......another cup of java, I think, before burning some useless books in the fireplace......."431" on the new baking thermometer... I've not lost my Mind......Just letting it ramble about in its bony cage for a while, before the rather dull and disincentive organization of stacks of Paper....





 Pass the Salt, a couple of packs of Gauloises, a pet snail, a dead rat and some rude remarks across the mahogany table, Patricia;  hold the cottage cheese, however, unless it has tomatoes and scallions in it....and,               'just come the fuck out'!

  yet another old photo, taken in the late 1970's, at 2793 P'tree Rd., with it's fragile emulsion separating from the underlying Ilford photographic paper.....Subjects: Tim Brogan and Katrina Motiska, Atlanta transplants from Allentown, Pa......from a Series....that did not utilize this photo....that I mounted and placed in a box for viewers to 'arrange as they will' to tell a 'Story' suggested by the photos....I placed small white 'stick-on's upon the reverse of the mounting boards, then calculated the 'correct order' of the photos that were chosen by a group of 13 viewers that had never before met the subjects of the Series, but who rearranged the photos into various orders of their own intentions, then verbalized The Interpretive Story that the photos depicted.........."Art School 'Keep Busy' Stuff".....
