Which is 'scarier'? an adult's naivety is more likely to put me 'on guard' and wary......'cuteness' is often a masque for darker countenances .....or just a symptom of idiocy........ You have to see 'what is' to know 'what is'......One can't keep an 'eye on' what cannot be acknowledged........Our corpus amygdaloideum lies beneath the convolvulus of rationalization, but...older and more primitive....it still runs the projectors......darken the theater, roll the acetate......what you see is what you get........

  through other sets of eyes, a Strange world co-exists with the Ordinary....... this is one of five 'bloody' drawings that I did, while waiting in 'the delivery room' for a friend to have a dead fetus removed from her uterus......an 'automatic' drawing......done in my mid-twenties.......and, here.....in an old sketchbook, a half century later........The new bottle of black Parker 'quink' arrived, recently.....and a box of fountain pens........Perhaps, I should finish that story...on some new paper......
